Hello all,
Well some exciting things have happened in our family in the last 24 hours or so. As many of you know, we live in the Northern most part of Round Rock Texas off of FM 1431. Angela works down the road in Cedar Park, and when we moved here the area was largely undeveloped. Since then many housing developments and retail centers have been built. This is been causing us to see more wildlife....like deers.
Last night, Angela was driving home from work when she saw a deer in the adjoing lane. She started breaking because she didn't know what the deer would do. As she approached, the deer jumped to get out of the way. The problem was that the deer jumped the WRONG way right in front of Angela's Dodge Neon.
Here are pictures of the car:

Angela is fine and it looks like the insurance company is going to total the car.

I did some acting when I was younger and I enjoy musicals, but this?

Well I have found some good Dr. Who news and some bad Dr. Who news.
The good news: The Sci-Fi Channel will air the new Dr. Who starting in March.
The bad news: Because of this they are delaying the release of the DVD box set until July 4.

So much for my Birthday/Valentines day present.

OMG. I just got back from seeing The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and it was awesome. This is the third attempt to translate this classic tail into the visual medium and it is the best one to date. I have seen all three, and I even have copies of the other 2 and while they are ok for when they were made, they were restricted by technology and budget. I know there are some people out there that will complain about things they changed, left out all together, or added for drama. I feel they did what they had to do to eliminate the need for a narrator like in the book and to make the movie a viable franchise without losing the core of the story. I won't post a lot of details here so not to spoil it for others, but I do offer one piece of advice, do not leave once the credits start rolling. That's it. I am going to go see it at least once more while it is in the theaters and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. I hope that it does well at the box office and it turns into a franchise like Harry Potter and LOTR. I would love to see the Dawn Treader sailing to the Lone Islands and to see both the creation and destruction of Narnia.
I might post more later after I know others have seen the movie.

From the News feed on the BBC Doctor Who Website:
Doctor Who to get Stateside release.
BBC Video have announced plans to release all 13 episodes of the 2005 series in the United States.
Doctor Who: The Complete First Series will be released across America on 14 February and the content will be identical to the box set which was released in the UK last week.
This is so cool. If only we could get a network over here to show the episodes as they run. My only regret is that this isn't being released 2 weeks eariler, then I could get it as a b-day present.

I recently had to buy a new car and unfortunately I couldn't afford the car I really wanted. A Toyota Prius. I thought a Hybrid would be great for not only the environment, but also for my wallet. I'm sure many people who own Hybrids thought the same thing. Well someone in the Government has realized that if you aren't buying as much gas, you aren't paying as much gas tax and thus not paying for your "fair share" of road repair and improvement. So the US Chamber of Commerce wants to tax hybrids and other fuel efficent cars. They also want the gas tax of about 18 cents per gallon to be indexed for inflation and they want to bill drivers for miles driven. This is all because they say the federal highway trust fund is running out of money.
So let me get this straight, I am an owner of a non-fuel efficent car and I currently pay 18 cents per gallon in Federal Gas tax and I Gas up once a week. That is $2.70 a week or $140.40 a year on average. So they want to charge me more mony based on the number of miles I drive. Is that going to be part of the IRS tax form now? Are you going to have to get a certified mileage reading once a year?
This partially sounds like the oil companies whispered in the governments ear and they are trying to take the heat off of themselves for rising Gas prices. If the Gas tax is indexed to inflation, everytime the prime rate goes up the fuel companies raise the prices and say "It's not us, it's the gas tax." You know I really wish that instead of looking for ways to blame others or pick our pockets the fuel companies would embarce alternate fuel research and work with auto manufactures to make more fuel efficent cars.
Here are links to some of the stories I found about this on the web.

Just when you think things can’t get any worse they usually do. Since September of 2004 my family has been living under a dark cloud and I am at a loss on how to dispel it. Allow me to lay out a chronology for you and maybe someone can give me an idea on how to get out from under this dark cloud.

I have a friend in Boise who told me that part of Interstate 55 was closed for 6 hours because of a badly placed GeoCache. The highway is the main commuter route between Boise and McCall and traffic was backed up for miles.
For the complete story and a picture of the cache go here: http://www.idahostatesman.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050928/NEWS01/509280313
I wonder what difficulty they rated the cache as?

If you haven't heard of this, the Kansas school board was going to have a hearing to decided if the theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of Evolution. A guy in Oregon heard about this and wrote them an open letter pointing out that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design and that they should also teach Flying Spaghetti Monsterism. Check out his letter and their responses here: http://www.venganza.org/index.htm

Everyone,
I received the following story in an e-mail message and at the end it asks to send the story on to 5 other people, but I thought I might reach more people if I posted it here.
A really moving story…. If you are prone to showing sentiment at moving stories, please be aware that this is one. Have a terrific day and remember to tell those close to you that you care.
